- California Association of Joint Powers Authorities (CAJPA)
CAJPA was formed in 1981 to provide more effective or efficient government services or solve a service delivery problem. CAJPA was formed to meet the need for communication and cooperation among the newly formed Joint Powers Authorities (JPA). The association serves as an information and educational network; one that has grown to also promote unique insurance and risk management concepts and services for its members. www.cajpa.org
- Alliance of Schools for Cooperative Insurance Programs (ASCIP)
ASCIP is a community of schools serving schools’ insurance and risk management needs. ASCIP exists to serve its members and to protect and conserve educational resources for the benefit of its students in public schools and colleges. www.ascip.org
- The American Federation of Teachers (AFT)
The mission of the American Federation of Teachers is to improve the lives of its members and their families; to give voice to their legitimate professional, economic and social aspirations; to strengthen the institutions in which they work; to improve the quality of the services AFT-CIO provides; to bring together all members to assist and support one another; and to promote democracy, human rights and freedom in AFT-CIO’s union, in the nation and throughout the world. Five divisions within the AFT represent the broad spectrum of the AFT’s membership: pre-K through 12th-grade teachers; paraprofessionals and other school-related personnel; higher education faculty and professional staff; federal, state and local government employees; and nurses and other healthcare professionals. - Schools Excess Liability Fund
The Schools Excess Liability Fund (SELF) is a joint powers authority created under Title 1, Division 7, Chapter 5, Article 1 of the California Government Code. Our organization serves more than half of the public school districts in the state and represents approximately 4.3 million students. SELF members include many K-12 districts, community college districts, charter schools, county offices of education and regional occupational programs. SELF is a member-owned, statewide partnership of public educational agencies providing quality pooled programs for excess coverage that benefit our students. www.selfjpa.org
