Bob Falle, MA

Training Team

Bob is an educator, workshop presenter and trainer with more than 25 years of experience, much of it in Juneau, Alaska, where he was a Resource Consultant Teacher in a multicultural school of 550 students. There he demonstrated unique sensitivity and awareness of issues and problems faced by not only his students with special needs, but by all students. He became a champion for student empowerment. He assisted in establishing the peer mediation program and sought to improve the quality of school life through mutual respect, tolerance, and understanding of differences.

Bob is equally comfortable with his colleagues as with his students. He has served on and facilitated numerous committees, and has presented numerous staff workshops and trainings. In Juneau, Bob was one of the co-developers and trainers of the Staff Collaboration Team, an initiative designed to decrease referrals of minority students for special education through teacher awareness of cultural and educational differences. This collaborative approach empowered teachers to work with their students’ strengths and became a model for the district.

Bob continued to promote student empowerment as the Learning Disabilities Specialist at the college level, instructing students in self-advocacy. He worked with the instructors by assisting in the development of and facilitating the Access Project Team that brought the concepts of Universal Designed Instruction to his campus and improved student-instructor communication.

Bob’s passionate belief in student empowerment has called him to his work with Community Matters and the Safe School Ambassador Program. His warm, authentic, approachable style encourages participants in his trainings to take responsibility for their own learning and ownership of issues they face every day. He considers this work to be the most meaningful of his career.

Bob holds a B.A. from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, and an M.A. from the University of Oregon, Eugene. He lives with his wife and daughter in New York.
